 Meet Pastor Mike Huffaker

It is my joy to be the new Pastor at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren!  I am excited to see what God is going to do as we, together continue to serve Him.       I grew up in the Church of the Brethren.  My Grandfather, Perry, and father, John, were Pastors.  I was baptized by my father at age 12.  I have a BA degree in Music from Bridgewater College and a MDiv from Bethany Theological Seminary and have served in 4 Church of the Brethren congregations in Iowa, Virginia, Kansas and the latest at Sugar Creek West COB in Lima, OH.       I met the love of my life, Laura, before beginning full time ministry and married in 2001.  We are a blended family and together have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.     Our children and grandchildren are a blessing to us.  I also serve on the Northern Ohio Church of the Brethren District Board and love to play basketball with my son in my spare time.

MEET OUR CHURCH

East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, like other ‘Church of the Brethren’ Churches has her roots in the 1708 ‘Brethren movement’ led by Alexander Mack in Schwarenau, Germany. The founders of East Chippewa CoB (est.1890) were committed to living for Jesus Christ by loving, sharing and serving others in His name. Today, that same vision fuels our local Church.  Our Church’s Mission Statement continues to support the above pursuits and desire in the context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

‘East Chip’ is made up of a multigenerational and multiethnic folks that seek to love God and people & each other by living and proclaiming His Word. East Chip’s folks have a wonderful way of making people feel accepted and at home.

Come and join us and experience the difference!
